Logo design for an Indigenous-owned multimedia and film production company dedicated to bringing the rich narratives of the North to life through film.

ZAHK’E PRODUCTIONS

Client:

Zahk'e Productions is a Yellowknife-based, Indigenous-owned film and multimedia production company that specializes in writing, directing, and producing films that connect culture, Northern stories, and language.

Their story:

  • Brand Identity: We designed a logo, font system and colour palette that reflects elements of Indigenous culture, northern landscapes, and storytelling.

We helped them with:

  • Caribou hold deep cultural meaning and are intrinsically linked to the health, subsistence and culture of the Denesųłiné. The antler featured in the design represents Zahk’e Production’s connections to the Tłı̨chǫ nation.

  • The stippled ‘blizzard’ effect within the design artfully conveys the meaning of ‘Zahk’e,’ which translates to ‘snow time’ in the Tłı̨chǫ Yatıì language. This design element evokes a sense of movement and flow, mirroring the migration patterns of caribou herds.
