Brand Identity design for an impactful legacy fund aimed at supporting communities across the Northwest Territories.
Client:
NORTHERN LEGACY FUND
The Yellowknife Community Foundation (YCF) is a charitable organization dedicated to empowering individuals and organizations to support community projects through grants, fundraising, strategic investments, public education, and community relations. YCF established the Northern Legacy Fund as an endowment fund aimed at uniting donors—individuals, organizations, and businesses— to support and strengthen communities across the Northwest Territories by donating to the fund. Grants from the Northern Legacy Fund will help support important charitable initiatives, creating a lasting impact in NWT communities.
Their story:
Brand Identity: We developed a visual identity that symbolizes unity, growth, and community, effectively representing the Northern Legacy Fund’s mission. To ensure long-term consistency across all branding and marketing materials, we created a branding style guide that helped define the fund's mission, vision, values, and communication strategy.
Template Design: We developed a suite of customizable templates that YCF could use to effectively launch the project and create their own impactful, on-brand fundraising campaigns.
We helped them with:
LOGO DESIGN
The design features an abstract caribou formed within the negative space of a mosaic of smaller organic shapes. The caribou was chosen as a symbol of prosperity and generational growth.
The pattern of smaller shapes coming together to form the caribou represents collaboration and partnerships among people, businesses, and organizations working towards a common goal.
The spaces within the shapes that create the antlers symbolize the twisting rivers connecting communities throughout the NWT. This connection represents strength in unity and emphasizes the importance of working together to create a sustainable future.
