Brand identity and website design for an Indigenous-owned consulting business.
Client:
BEB[A]SKI
Beb(a)ski is a collaboration project between Robert Grandjambe and Chloe Dragon Smith. The name of their business was chosen to honour both of their ancestral backgrounds, as well as the hope they have for peoples and nations to come together and make choices for abundance and sustainability. ‘BEBA’ translates to ‘FOR’ in dënësųłiné yatié (Chipewyan Dene language). ‘ASKI’ translates to ‘LAND’ in nêhiyawêwin (Woodland Cree language). Through their business, they work to revitalize Indigenous systems by supporting the Land and navigating through the aftermath of colonialism within their communities.
Their story:
Brand identity: We designed an impactful brand that honours their Indigenous heritage, with visuals that convey sustainability and giving back to the land in abundance.
Website design: We designed a user friendly website that empowers Beb[a]ski to share information about their background, important resources, and their offerings and areas of expertise.
We helped them with:
LOGO DESIGN
The brand features imagery of a weathered and seasoned caribou skull, slowly disintegrating into the land, which represents the cycle of life and the act of giving back to the land in abundance.
The caribou also symbolizes storytelling and represents the continuation of culture through the sharing of traditional knowledge rooted in Indigenous ways of knowing and being.
